For one manufacturer on Bimstore, the Hedgehog Pledge is already ingrained in the brand's culture. Timloc Building Products, though best known for manufacturing and supplying sustainable building alternatives, offers one product that stands out from the rest: The Hedgehog Highway.
As part of their sustainability efforts, Timloc Building Products created a hedgehog highway to help address the decline in hedgehogs across the UK. This product connects gardens, enabling hedgehogs to roam freely and forage for food and shelter without restriction, making it an important addition to any garden fence.
Made from 100% recycled plastic and packaged in recycled materials, the Hedgehog Highway reflects a commitment to sustainability from production through installation. For every sale, Timloc pledges to donate to hedgehog rescue centres and support organisations across the UK.
Recently, Timloc demonstrated its support by donating 120 Hedgehog Highways to Hedgepig and Hoglet Rescue in North Yorkshire as part of a new community conservation initiative launching this May. Homeowners were encouraged to create small 13cm holes in their garden walls or fences to accommodate the Hedgehog Highway. By providing safe passage between gardens, these efforts help prevent our spiny mammal friends from crossing busy roads, reducing the risk of injury or death.

Castlethorpe Homes Case Study
Hedgehogs are endangered animals. Each year in the UK, an estimated 350,000 hedgehogs are killed by cars while crossing roads.
Issy Cooke, Marketing Executive at Timloc Building Products, stated:
“Something as simple as installing a Hedgehog Highway can make a real difference. This initiative is exactly what we need in the UK to help address the decline in hedgehog numbers and raise awareness of what homeowners could do to help.”
Castlethorpe Homes is a renowned house builder serving some of the most historically rich areas across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, and surrounding regions. One exclusive development, The Paddocks, actively incorporated Bio-Diversity Net Gain initiatives to help neutralise carbon emissions from construction. As part of this effort, Timloc’s Hedgehog Highways were installed to support native species.
“The Hedgehog Highway by Timloc was the perfect fit [for maximising environmental and social impact], allowing hedgehogs to roam freely in our green spaces.” – Chris Warner, Founder & Managing Director of Castlethorpe Homes.
