wienerberger Donates Roofing Products to the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease

wienerberger UK & Ireland, a provider of innovative solutions for the entire building envelope, has made a product donation worth more than £40,000 to the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The product donation - which will go towards the construction of the new centre’s roof – includes more than 33,500 roof tiles and ridges, and 33,000 clips.  

Designed by Corstorphine & Wright Architects in partnership with the hospital’s clinical staff, patients, their families, and the wider MND community, the centre is being commissioned by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust thanks to a fundraising appeal by Leeds Hospitals Charity and will provide a calm and peaceful environment. Local contractor I&G is constructing the centre, which has just reached a key milestone of becoming watertight, with attention moving to the internal fit-out, in preparation for handover later this year.

The Rob Burrow Centre for MND will become a space where all MND services can be housed under the same roof for the first time, including specialist nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists and speech and language therapists.
